Builder site prep

Site prep for builders and contractors

Builders and other contractors call us to take a lot from wooded to ready for the next crew. Clearing, fill, pads and grading, done with our own trucks and machines, so it's one call instead of three.

What we handle on a job site

On a typical builder's lot we can cover everything from the first tree to a finished pad. Pick the pieces you need.

  • Clearing the lot and hauling the debris away in our dump trucks
  • Stumps and roots out of the pad and driveway area
  • Fill dirt and clean fill delivered by our own trucks
  • The building pad, spread in lifts and compacted with our roller
  • Rough grading to the site plan
  • Millings for a temporary drive or a parking area, if you want one

Fitting into your schedule

Send the site plan and the address first. We'll usually want to see the land, or photos of it, before we give you a number. Tell us who's coming in after us and when, and whether the survey is staked yet.

Point out survey stakes and any silt fence before we start, so they're still standing when we leave.

Things we'll ask about

These come up on almost every builder job. Having the answers ready keeps the first visit short.

  • The site plan, and the finished floor height for the pad
  • Whether density testing is required, and who's arranging it
  • Trees the permit says have to stay
  • Whether the lot needs a clearing permit, and if it's been issued
  • Whether the lot has been checked for gopher tortoise burrows
  • Where loaded trucks can get on and off the lot

About us

Harrack Trucking & Land Clearing, Inc. is family owned and has been since 1988. We work out of 367 Williams Point Blvd in Cocoa, and our trucks run under USDOT 832725. We cover Brevard County, from Mims and Titusville down through Cocoa, Rockledge, Merritt Island and Viera to Melbourne and Palm Bay.

Gopher tortoises are protected in Florida, and a survey or an FWC permit may be needed before a lot with burrows is cleared. Clearing permits from the county or the city depend on the lot. If you're not sure what a lot needs, call and we'll talk it through.
